New Toys

I got a new toy delivered the other day. I've made 4 loaves of bread with it so far. It is wonderful. I might have to name it like Our Sara does. It is that fabulous.

And since I got this toy, the boys got one as well. It was one of those "free with purchase" things. Of course, shortly after I took the picture they had loads of fun destroying it, so now it's in the recycle bin. . .

Grit Night

This is actually out of order since it happened before Valentine's day, but this was our family night out at The Grit, our favorite Athens restaurant--which also happens to be a vegetarian restaurant. B's favorite is the cheese toast, of course. McCance loves the dal--as you can see. Mine is the Golden Bowl, but I do like some variety. I can't say what Scott's fave is, because he's pretty well-rounded.

They Really Do Love Each Other

As a parent I know that sometimes it's hard to remember the times of the day when they are not at each other. I know arguing, fighting and such is just a part of being siblings. I have several myself. We still occasionally have at each other, most often in a more grow-up manner than we used to. But this shows how dear they are to one another and, I believe, it is an already answered prayer that these two brothers are also best friends.

Day With Dad (February 23)

The boys had some much needed dad time today, while I attended a local homeschooling conference. Besides a few errands and home for lunch, they went to the local John Deere store which is better than the playground for them. The one featured even had a sun roof. The three also did a walk-through at our little zoo. Featured is the red-tailed hawk, which was a favorite of B's. McCance wanted me to see the box turtle. He didn't care that I used to play with turtles; it was that particular one that *he* wanted to show me.
