Trucks Galore

Saturday morning we made the trek to the far end of Oconee County for the highlight of the weekend. Their park and rec department put on Touch a Truck. There was everything from the local favorite, a 2-trailer Fed Ex freight truck, to the fire truck, bomb removal unit (UGA Police), mini-track excavator and so forth. Here are a few highlights.

Smoothies!

We love smoothies around here. And thanks to my friend, Stevie, we've been having more of them lately. She provides some great choices when it comes to vitamins and supplements. I've come to love smoothie time with the Complete Greens. And the kids have no qualms in eating their greens in a smoothie. Me either. Yum!

Summer or Spring?

We had our first summery spring day in Georgia on Friday. It was 84--about 50 degrees warmer than the low last night. We played outside, planted seeds, weeded, and so forth. All before the little rain storm came in.

McCance and B wore similar outfits. McCance loves to everything Bradford does. Including wear clothes like his, say the same things, play with his food the same way--the good and the bad. I can't decide if I really like it, but I don't think I have a choice but to accept it. (pics to come; they are begin stubborn!)

Happy 5th Birthday!?

He's five. Bradford is five. It's gone very quickly. We had the celebration the Friday evening before his birthday. Our good friends came over to help celebrate. B chose the menu and we all talked and played, then watched part of the Old School Sesame Street DVD we gave to him for his gift. (Yes, it *was* partly for me.) He also got his first real Bible. His friends gave him bubble bath and bath crayons. It was all he could do to wait until they left to use it. I think it's his favorite gift. The March Finale

A revival in our den. Led by Bradford. He sang "Leaning on the Everlasting Arms" and "Jesus Loves Me." He read from his little Bible storybook--some reading, some singing. When it came to the Christmas story, he even fell to the floor. Mom and I were really enjoying it. McCance joined in with his Bible and flag when he woke up.

Visit from G'ma Carole and Papa Terry

Also from March--
1-3-Decorating Easter cookies with Grandma Carole. Papa Terry helped too. You can guess how.
4-5-Helping G'ma Carole (and Papa too) plant some lariope around our brick patio. During their visit they were uber helpful and accomplished a lot of things that I never get around to while simultaneously playing and engaging the boys in fun stuff so I could have a break.

April's Here, March Has Disappeared

We had a rough March due to flu in the family and a few other difficult moments. Now April is here, along with DST--which means later bedtime for the boys since we can be playing outside for a longer time. Hence little blogging time left for me.

Here are some pictures from last month, including
1-Bradford's birthday gift from Grandma and Grandpa H--a huge hit nearly daily.
2-St. Patrick's Day--the boys and Scott have a little bit of Irish, but Bradford really got into the holiday. They had Cheerios with green milk, green yogurt (photo), and green oatmeal!
3-Helping Daddy Scott clear some dead branches by the creek. Those are their costumes from Halloween. They were loons. And looking at the map on the link, I see why we got so many blank stares from Native Georgians. Loons don't live here!
4-Easter morning-an indoor egg hunt, new crayons, and a cool card from G'ma and G'pa H.
