Our Chilly Fall Day Trip

Charlotte joined us on our excursion to Amicalola Falls and to get apples in Ellijay. She climbed the 175 steps to the view of the top of the falls wearing her pack. (We didn't climb to the top of the falls this time.)

Fall leaves were mostly browns and yellows with an occasional red.

This is as posed as my boys will get without funny faces.


They had wanted to climb the remaining 425 steps up to the top of the falls. I said sure, but Cora and I would wait. They ran back a few minutes later having decided that it was time to go get apples instead.

The falls was especially gorgeous yesterday. It was very crisp, overcast, but the sun was trying to peek through near the top.

Cora rode in comfort on my back even napping most of the way up and part of the way down. That fleece pullover she's wearing was worn by both of her brothers as well. Oh, and if you're wondering it was definitely chilly yesterday. Hence the title!

Brother and Sister

Cora is working out how to crawl lately. She can get up on all fours, but isn't quite sure what to move when to go somewhere. I imagine another week or so and she'll figure it out. Likely, by Thanksgiving she'll be everywhere. Thankfully my parents are laid back and totally understand baby-proofing.

McCance came out to play with Cora right after some highly traumatic (to a 4 year-old) incident, thus the tears still on his face.
Bradford didn't get in on the fun because he was in the bathtub.

Joining the Rest of the Family

After too many close calls with little 5 month old grabby hands, Cora has joined the rest of the family around the table even though she hasn't tried her first "solid" food yet. She wants to sit up so badly, but doesn't have the balance yet. Even strapped in with the tray all tight against her, she tends to tip a bit, but loves to watch us all around the table.

Dog Show

Bradford planned and hosted a dog show of that non-AKC variety. He actually invited real dogs, but when one of our entries ate a pork chop bone the night before the show, he ended up with a belly ache. After a few phone calls and other arrangements, we secured some other entries of the stuffed variety. Here are a few pictures. (More will be forthcoming, as the camera battery died shortly after the beginning of the show.)

McCance's Creepy Crawly Hat

It's a spider missing a leg. He made it in co-op last Friday. As I peeked out the window, his class paraded by. Every child (about 15 of them) was wearing one of these. I'm glad I'm not afraid of most spiders.

My Birthday

Bradford shapes his bit of pizza dough left from Your Pie, my birthday dinner choice. They give the kids a piece of dough to occupy them while they wait.
