This summer I talked to Bradford about taking Tae Kwon Do. I thought he might enjoy it, get some exercise, build his focus ability, and so on. He was simply not interested, but wanted to learn to dance like Fred Astaire! (I also found out that my dear uncle also was a tap dancer!) So without shopping around, we signed both of them up at a local studio that offers boys scholarships. (McCance insisted he also wanted to do it since Bradford was. At first he was upset they wouldn't be in the same class, but got over that quickly.) The only disappointing part was that we were too late for the ballet-tap class, so they are going to the ballet class, which is a combination of classical ballet lessons and "movement." We weren't able to watch them due to kids being easily distracted, but they both really enjoyed the class and the teacher, Miss Lauren. McCance is more exuberant about it, as that is his nature, but Bradford showed me some of the positions they learned and that was a fun review.
The afternoon after blueberry picking we enjoyed a lovely tea party in celebration of our friend Rachel's birthday. It was the most lively tea party I've experienced, but also the most fun! The kids "made" a flower garden with cardboard and tissue paper. They also decorated flower cookies complete with many colors of frosting and a plethora of sprinkles to the delight of every child and sweet tooth present.

Punch balloons for the tea party. Bekah likes to live on the wild side!
And finally a little glimpse of what happens when you are a 5 year-old girl and you invite a bunch of boys to your tea party. These are sweet boys, but they are still boys! (Notice Rachel in the background. She's upset that the boys aren't quiet.)
