The boys and I put together a gingerbread house today! It really was a lot of fun and very messy. They had a blast decorating it--the hardest part being actually decorating instead of eating all of the candies. B had really wanted to make one around Christmas , but that was one of the activities we never got to. Lo and behold, several days ago, there was a gingerbread house kit up for grabs on Freecycle. You can see it in process and complete.
